KX250F & RM-Z250

YOU MAY HAVE HEARD ABOUT SOME MOTORS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE INTAKE CAM SEIZING, TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WMR SUGGESTS ALWAYS CAREFULLY TORQUE THE CAM CAP BOLTS TO 8 FT. LBS. AND CUT AN OIL GROOVE INTO THE INTAKE JOURNAL. THE STOCK HEAD ONLY HAS AN OIL GROOVE ON THE EXHAUST SIDE. WE DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND WHY A GROOVE WAS NOT CUT IN BOTH SIDES BUT WE BELIEVE IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO GET OIL TO THESE TYPES OF AREAS. SINCE PERFORMING THIS MODIFICATION AND CHECKING JOURNAL SPECS, WE HAVE HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH CAMS SEIZING.
